Dubai outreach to China

Dubai Chambers recently held a targeted roundtable in Shanghai to spotlight investment opportunities under the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and to promote the emirate as a regional and global business gateway. The session gathered a select group of Chinese business representatives and investors for discussions about how Dubais regulatory environment, infrastructure and strategic location can support international companies' expansion across the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, said China is a strategic market for the organisation as it seeks to deepen investment ties. He emphasised Dubais role as a platform for Chinese firms to access regional markets, noting that the economic relationship between Dubai and China is gaining momentum amid growing cooperation across priority sectors.

The roundtable also highlighted the role of the Dubai Business Forum China in strengthening business-to-business links. Dubai Chambers provided updates on the forums next edition, scheduled for Shenzhen on 14 October, which will convene business leaders, investors and policymakers to explore partnerships, investment and collaboration across future-focused sectors such as the digital economy and advanced technologies.

Priority sectors and support for Chinese investors

During the Shanghai meeting, Dubai Chambers showcased investment opportunities across priority sectors including technology, Agentic AI, logistics, trade and advanced manufacturing. The programme outlined services and initiatives available to support Chinese companies looking to set up or expand in Dubai, and to forge trade and investment partnerships with local businesses.

The forthcoming Dubai Business Forum China is positioned as a high-level platform for strategic networking and dialogue, bringing together senior public- and private-sector representatives, multinational companies, fast-growing technology startups, investors and venture capital firms. The agenda is expected to combine curated panel discussions with targeted networking formats designed to help firms convert strategic opportunities into concrete business outcomes.

The Shanghai roundtable is part of Dubai Chambers broader campaign to strengthen international trade and investment ties and to deepen engagement with markets that have high growth potential. These efforts directly support the objectives of D33, Dubais long-term economic agenda aimed at positioning the city among the worlds top three economic centres.

The roundtable follows Dubai Chambers ongoing work to build lasting bridges of cooperation that enable foreign companies to capitalise on Dubais competitive advantages and use the city as a strategic springboard for regional expansion.
