Saudi Arabia's Industrial Vision: A Call for German Expertise

Saudi Arabia is embarking on one of the most ambitious industrial transformation processes in the world. By 2035, the nation plans to establish 36,000 factories, organized within 40 industrial zones, as part of a strategic move to diversify its economy away from oil dependence. The goal is to evolve into a global hub for manufacturing, resource refinement, and future technologies.

To achieve this, Saudi Arabia is actively seeking international partners, focusing particularly on Europe. The country is offering incentives such as special economic zones, tax benefits, and expanded logistical networks to attract foreign companies, including those from Germany.

Bandar Al Khorayef, Saudi Arabias Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, emphasizes the appeal of German engineering and manufacturing prowess. He highlights the potential for partnerships that leverage German expertise and technology in the Kingdom. "Germany stands out for its strong engineering and manufacturing capabilities," Al Khorayef notes. "We see significant opportunities in collaborations that bring German know-how and skilled professionals to Saudi Arabia." Al Khorayef acknowledges the challenges involved, comparing the process to "repairing a car while driving on the highway."

The Kingdom faces immense pressure to deliver on logistics, financing, and workforce development, but remains optimistic about overcoming these hurdles. As Saudi Arabia continues to transform its industrial landscape, the call for collaboration with German companies represents a strategic effort to integrate advanced technologies and expertise into its burgeoning industrial sector.
