Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet, is set to significantly expand its global presence in artificial intelligence (AI) by establishing a colossal data center in India, the world's most populous nation. This strategic investment, projected to reach billions of dollars, underscores Google's commitment to enhancing its AI capabilities globally. The planned facility will be constructed on Indias east coast over the next five years, with an estimated investment of $15 billion (approximately €13 billion). Once operational, this new data center will join Googles extensive network of AI facilities in 12 countries worldwide. Located in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, the project aims to develop a comprehensive infrastructure featuring gigawatt-level power capacity to support the development and deployment of AI applications and solutions. The initiative also includes renewable energy sources and a fiber optic network, making it the largest AI hub investment outside the United States, according to Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, as quoted by India's "Mint" business daily. This ambitious project is being developed in collaboration with local partners AdaniConneX and Airtel, to provide the necessary infrastructure for Google services such as Search, Workspace, and YouTube. Meanwhile, Alphabets stock is consolidating at a high level, with new momentum anticipated from the upcoming third-quarter earnings report, which the Google parent company is set to release on October 29. Alphabet's strategic moves in AI position the company as a major player in the future landscape of technology. For long-term investors, Alphabet's stock remains a foundational investment, with market setbacks presenting potential entry points for acquisition.
